TULAY UYAR HATIP
SOPRANO
Turkish soprano Tülay Uyar has performed as a soloist with different accompanists over 35 countries countries, performed with symphonic orchestras and performed in musicals and operas.
Assistant Professor Tülay Uyar studied with State Artist Soprano Suna Korad at Bilkent Universty-Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, Opera Department, and graduated with honours. While studying at the University, she won the Talented Young Musicians Competition in Turkey and performed with Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra. Tülay Uyar was awarded a full scholarship by the Austrian Government to the University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Vienna and studied with Prof. Gabriella Lechner. She has completed her studies at Mimar Sinan University State Consevatory for master-degree and Istanbul University State Conservatory for PHD.
Attended masterclasses with Gerd Uecker in Istanbul and at Scheswig-Holstein Music Festival, Germany; with Soprano Edda Moser at Montepulciano Europe Music Academy, Italy; with Soprano Patricia Wise; Renate Holm in Stift Altenburger Summer Academy, Austria; and with Bariton Kurt Widmer at Salzurg Mozarteum Summer Academy. She has also studied privately with Edda Moser in Koln and Renate Holm in Vienna, and Richard Hetherington and Elisabeth Connel in London.
Concerts and Performances
Tulay Uyar performed the roles of title role "Semele"- G.F.Handel 7 performances, title role of "Alcina" G.F.Handel 2 performances with Opera İstanbul, sang the role of "Ann Trulove" Starvinsky's The Rake's Progress 2 performances.. “Governess" The Turn of the Screw-Britten 3 performances, “Cleopatra” Giulio Cesare-Handel “Goddess of Moon” Midas’s Ears-F.Tüzün 6 performances; Maria" in West Side Story, and "Luisa" in Fantastics at Istanbul State Opera; “Despina” Cosi Fan Tutte-Mozart, “Musetta” La Boheme-Puccini at Mersin State Opera, the leading role of a Turkish Opera ‘Aşk-ı Memnu’ at the Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall; and the role of Leila ‘Leila and Mecnun’ at the Istanbul State Theater.
Tülay Uyar has performed in 35 countries under the sponsorship of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a number of important concert halls including Townhall, Sidney, Wiener Konzerthall in Vienna, Ford Center in Toronto, and also in many small concert halls such as Maly Theater Moscow, Doelen (small hall) Rotterdam and at Turkish Embassies.
Uyar, has also performed many times with the State Orchestras of Presidential Symhony Orchestras İzmir, İstanbul, Bursa, Çukurova, Antalya. And with orchestras of Istanbul, Cemal Resit Rey and Bilkent University with programmes such as Beethoven 9th Symhony(6 performances), Mahler 4 (2 performances), Mozart Requiem, Faure Requiem, Pergolesi Stabat Mater, Bach Coffee Cantate. She has recently performed Elgar's Spirit of England with Abingdon Symphony.
Tulay Uyar has recorded various Disney Songs in their Turkish version for Walt Disney: Cinderella, Pocahontas, Little Mermaid(Ariel), Sleeping Beauty (Aurora), Shrek 3 (Snowwhite) are some of the characters she has recorded so far. In addition she has recorded the Turkish dialogues of Enchanted (Giselle)and Disenchanted Giselle (Turkish dialogues and songs) Sleeping Beauty (Aurora) and Lady and the Tramp.
